Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Advisory Notice #3
Please find below an update as to how Swire Shipping is managing the recent Novel Coronavirus (COVID19) outbreak:
Mainland China Operations
We expect that most of our staff will return to working from our offices in Mainland China from 17th February. In the meantime, those teams not back in our offices continue to work from home. The safety of our staff remains our top priority and we continue to monitor the situation and government requirements in Mainland China closely.
Temporary Network Changes & Local Logistics in China
The impact of the outbreak to the network is under continuous review. There have been immediate challenges caused by quarantine restrictions, which in turn have resulted in schedule delays (for services departing from Mainland China only). The reduction of trucking options has also resulted in reduced cargo readiness in Mainland China. Considering these, we have made temporary adjustments to our North Asia Services (NAX, NAT and PNA) that have direct calls to Mainland China. The detail of these changes can be found on the schedules published on our website at www.swireshipping.com.
We expect the restart of production in Mainland China to ramp up from this week. The speed with which full production resumes and any further quarantine restrictions will then determine if there are any further changes required for services that have direct calls to Mainland China.
For more information on these changes, please contact your local Swire Shipping representative.
The rest of the network, including all our South East Asia Services remains unchanged and continues to operate as usual.
Should the current situation lead to a change in your sourcing patterns and shipping requirements please contact your local Swire Shipping representative. Our team are on hand to provide you with solutions.
