Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Advisory Notice #6
The COVID-19 situation has continued to escalate globally and within the Asia-Pacific region that Swire Shipping proudly serves. As our key markets contend with the challenges posed by COVID-19, several ‘quarantine’ measures have been implemented causing delays to the network. Swire Shipping will continue to comply with and support all government measures to protect communities from the spread of the virus.
As a result of the pandemic and these quarantine measures, and in order to continue to support these markets and keep vital trade lanes open, the following temporary network changes are hereby announced. 1) Network Changes
Papua New Guinea related immediate network disruptions:

Network changes:

NAX | Buxhansa (v2007) | Sailing due to commence exShanghai on 8th May will be blanked. | Southbound cargo requirements will be covered by adjacent NAX and NAT voyages, with an additional Nansha port call added to Shuntien v2008s on NAT. |
PNA | Papuan Chief (v2011) | Sailing due to commence ex-Busan on 4th June will be blanked. | Cargo requirements will be covered with space prioritized on adjacent PNA voyages. |
NAT | Multiple | – | No major service changes currently. However, for rotation alterations and port omissions, please refer to the detailed schedule. |
TRT | Multiple | Suspension of service as a result of New Zealand and Australia lockdowns. | Consultation with key customers continues in light of New Zealand’s revision of lockdown restrictions due to be applied from 27th April. |
2) Network Restrictions
Governments continue to implement measures to protect communities from the spread of the virus. In some cases, these will disrupt our schedules. Please note that the below restrictions have been abbreviated to show countries relevant to our network only.

Fiji | Latouka port was closed for a period in late March. However, activity has now restarted. |
Kiribati | 14 days from any country with a confirmed case of COVID-19 |
Marshall Islands | 14 days from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Italy, Japan |
Niue | 14 days from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Macau, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand |
Papua New Guinea | A 14-day quarantine period is currently in effect in Lae for vessels from any international port. |
Solomon Islands | 14 days from any international port. Comment: The ability to apply for and receive dispensation to reduce this to 4 days has been in effect for strategically important cargo ships. |
Tonga | 14 days from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines |
Torres Strait Pilotage (Great Barrier Reef) | 14 days from Mainland China, South Korea Note: Introduced by pilotage companies, not state or federal government. |
