Purchase of MV Dili Chief (ex-Souni) and Vessel Name Change

14/09/2021

Dear Valued Customers,

Swire Shipping is proud to advise the purchase of MV Dili Chief (ex-Souni), currently operating on our North West Australia Direct (NWD) service.

The purchase and name change took place in Singapore on 13th September prior to the commencement of voyage 2113S

We recognize the importance of North West Australia as a key location for mining and resources activities, and building our network capabilities in this region has been a long-term ambition for Swire Shipping. Earlier this year, Swire Shipping established the NWD service, a direct multi-purpose shipping service connecting North West Australia with ports globally every 20 days, accepting all types of containerised, breakbulk and project cargo. The new service has seen our customers unlock genuine value in the supply chain, from cost; sustainability; safety; and community involvement perspectives. With this additional investment, we are therefore pleased to be able to further commit to this key market and provide greater support for our customers.

Swire Shipping remains committed to providing customers with certainty of direct sailings and your ongoing support will ensure that we can continue to provide a sustainable and reliable direct shipping service into North West Australia.

For further information please do not hesitate to contact your local Swire Shipping representative.
