Swire Shipping recently launched a new container sales and leasing unit to cater for the growing need for secure storage solutions for clients in Papua New Guinea.

In addition to catering to the demand for secure storage, this business will provide a vehicle for Swire Shipping to find uses for their end-of-life containers. The end uses for used shipping containers are numerous, including: domestic secure storage; conversion into accommodation or site office units; and even drying units for crops such as cocoa and vanilla.

With major domestic PNG infrastructure projects, such as LNG, Wafi-Golpu gold, Frieda River gold and major road network upgrades coming closer to fruition, Swire Shipping is well placed to cater to the huge demand from these sectors too.
